We are looking for Mechanical Technicians for Oman
Mechanical Technicians must have a minimum of five (05) years’ experience of central boiler steam raising plant, associated steam pipe work and controls, condense recovery systems and boiler water treatment. This will include knowledge of safety and current regulations as applied to such plant. Each must have a certificate of competence from a Government recognized source preferably a Class One Boiler Operators Certificate. Technicians shall have experience of machine shop work including lathe and milling machine work, screw cutting and other close tolerance work with welding ability.
Mechanical Technicians in Category ‘H’, in addition to his basic mechanical skills, shall be a capable welder able to fabricate using electric or gas welding together with brazing. All the remaining Mechanical Technicians in Category ‘H’ shall be able to do basic welding using electric or gas welding equipment in addition to their basic trade skills.
Mechanical Technicians should have training in medical gases installations including central plant for oxygen, medical air and vacuum pipe work systems and end user terminals with knowledge and application of Hospital technical memorandum (HTM) 2022 & HTM02-01.
In general Technicians shall have experience on kitchen equipment, central laundry equipment, pump sets, compressor stations, lifting gear hydraulics and pneumatics, with knowledge of associated controls. Particular experience of large sewage treatment plants, water treatment and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) installations would be an advantage.
Mechanical Technicians must have at least five (05) years’ experience in maintenance, operation testing and calibration of sterilizing equipment.
The Mechanical Technicians shall have a good knowledge of electricity, electronics and associated equipment and be able to maintain mechanical equipment that may be found present in modern day autoclaves. The Mechanical Technicians have had experience in working with Gettinge type autoclaves as well as other brands and be aware of the British Standards laid down by Hospital Technical Memorandum 2022. The Mechanical Technicians must have a good knowledge of steam both theory and practice and its use in the sterilization process. The Mechanical Technicians experience should also include hot air and gas sterilizers. The Mechanical Technicians must be able to demonstrate the sterilization cycle. This is all in addition to general mechanical works as mentioned above.
All Mechanical Technicians shall have knowledge of the safety requirements and regulations of rotating equipment and pressurized equipment and shall be able to read, write and speak good English, to read drawings, and use micrometers and vernier gauges.
